Julia Mih\u00e1ly bewegt sich als Komponistin an den Schnittstellen von Neuer Musik, Performance Kunst und elektroakustischer Musik. Sie studierte klassischen Gesang und Elektronische Komposition an der Hochschule f\u00fcr Musik Theater und Medien Hannover und erg\u00e4nzte ihr Studium mit Workshops und Kursen am ZKM Karlsruhe, am STEIM Amsterdam, bei den Stockhausen Sommer Kursen K\u00fcrten und als Teilnehmerin der Internationalen Ferienkurse f\u00fcr Neue Musik Darmstadt. Nach Abschluss ihres Studiums 2012 arbeitete sie zun\u00e4chst haupts\u00e4chlich als Interpretin zeitgen\u00f6ssischer Musik und als Elektronik-Performerin. Seit 2018 konzentriert sie sich schwerpunktm\u00e4\u00dfig auf die T\u00e4tigkeit als Komponistin und arbeitete u.a. mit Ensemble Resonanz, Ensemble Mosaik, Ensemble hand werk, Meitar Ensemble und dem Isenburg Quartett. Sie ist Mitbegr\u00fcnderin des Kollektivs \u201eUntere Reklamationsbeh\u00f6rde\u201c, dessen Schwerpunkt seit 2020 auf der Entwicklung ortsspezifischer, sog. Empirischer Musiktheater liegt. Mih\u00e1ly war bisher mit ihren Arbeiten u.a. zu Gast beim Heroines of Sound Festival Berlin, dem K\u00fcnstlerhaus Mousonturm Frankfurt, Hellerau \u2013Europ\u00e4isches Zentrum der K\u00fcnste Dresden, SIGNALE Graz, TEMPO REALE Florenz, SPOR Festival Arhus, NTU CCA Centre for Contemporary Arts Singapore, sowie als Interpretin u.a. bei der Biennale Musica di Venezia, der Ruhrtriennale und in der Suntory Hall Tokyo. 2018 war sie Tutorin bei den Internationalen Ferienkursen f\u00fcr Neue Musik Darmstadt.\u00a0
